SUNY Broome Community College is seeking Part-Time Professional Tutors for Nursing in the Learning Assistance Department. The Professional Tutor assists nursing students with coursework, integrating study strategies to promote independent learning under supervision of the department and nursing faculty.

Tutors may be needed in various Nursing subject areas, including Obstetrics and Dimensional Analysis with dosage calculations, IV rates, and weight-based dosing.

Competenze

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or an Associate's degree plus a License/Certification in a related area.
• Participation in initial training and ongoing tutor development activities as required.
• One year of experience working with students in an academic setting, preferable.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship.

Mansioni

• Completes asynchronous onboarding training and any assigned ongoing training.
• Supports student comprehension by developing learning activities, clarifying course concepts, and guiding students through course materials in one-on-one or small group formats.
• Provides students with tools and strategies to evaluate study habits and become active learners in one-on-one or small group formats.
• Refers students to other student support resources as needed.
• Maintains bi-weekly timesheets and tracks tutoring sessions.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
