Job summary

White Plains Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Technician for the night shift to perform patient and non-patient care tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Duties include ADLs, vital signs, I&O, EKGs, specimen collection, and assisting with meals and transport.

Required is a high school diploma or GED, with BLS certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months. Prior hospital experience is preferred, and EKG training may be required for monitor reading.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Less than 1 year hospital experience preferred.
• Nursing Technicians who will be trained to read monitors require the 4-day EKG class.
• BLS certification required or must obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ADLs and vital signs; monitor input/output and perform EKGs.
• Document vital signs and I&O, assist with meals, transport, and specimens.
• Assist with dressing changes, specimen collection, and routine patient care under RN supervision.
• Support infection control, attend mandatory trainings, and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
