Job summary

Cone Health Medical Group in Greensboro, NC seeks a Nursing Technician to support Registered Nurses by observing and documenting patient conditions. Under close supervision, you will assist with daily living activities and progressive mobility to aid recovery and care plans.

You will help with clinical tasks, monitor vitals, document care, and ensure a safe, well-stocked environment while collaborating with the nursing team. Requires NC nurse aide certification and BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Nurse Aide Certification required by NC DHHR.
• BLS CPR certification (Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider) required.

Responsibilities

• Supports patients with daily living tasks including meals and personal care.
• Assists with progressive mobility to support recovery and plan of care.
• Monitors nutrition, hydration, and elimination quality of life to anticipate patient needs.
• Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharges per plan of care.
• Assists with clinical procedures such as monitoring blood glucose, recording vital signs, obtaining EKGs, applying restraints, and attending to elimination needs.
• Maintains unit inventories of supplies and equipment for a safe environment.
• Verifies fall-risk patients have appropriate arm bands, socks, and signage for safety.
• Documents clinical procedures, patient interactions, and medication use for a detailed history.
• Responds to delegation from RN staff and communicates observations to support collaboration.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Function

• Supports patients with daily living tasks, including meals, personal care, and progressive mobility in order to support the recovery and plan of care.
• Assesses patients' quality of life related to nutrition, hydration, and elimination in order to distribute resources and anticipate patient needs.
• Admits, transfers, and discharges patients in order to move them to the appropriate locations in line with the plan of care.
• Assists with clinical procedures, including monitoring blood glucose, recording vital signs, obtaining EKG's, applying restraints, and attending to elimination needs to provide comfortable care for patients.
• Helps to maintain unit inventories of supplies and medical equipment in order to ensure a clean and safe environment in adherence to the National Patient Safety Goals.
• Checks that fall-risk patients have the appropriate arm bands, socks, and signage to ensure physical safety.
• Helps document all clinical procedures, patient interactions, and medication use to maintain a detailed patient history.
• Responds promptly to delegation from registered nurse staff and shares patient observations to ensure efficient collaboration.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
