Job Title: Nursing Technician
The Nursing Technician supports the Registered Nurse by observing and documenting patient conditions. Working under close supervision, this role assists with patient support through progressive mobility and assistance with daily tasks as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Support patients with daily living tasks, including meals, personal care, and mobility to support recovery and the plan of care.
- Assess patients' quality of life related to nutrition, hydration, and elimination to allocate resources and anticipate needs.
- Admit, transfer, and discharge patients to appropriate locations in line with the care plan.
- Assist with clinical procedures such as monitoring blood glucose, recording vital signs, obtaining EKGs, applying restraints, and attending to elimination needs to ensure patient comfort.
- Maintain unit inventories of supplies and medical equipment to ensure a safe environment in accordance with the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Ensure fall-risk patients have appropriate identification and safety signage.
- Document all clinical procedures, patient interactions, and medication use to maintain detailed patient records.
- Respond promptly to delegation from registered nurses and share patient observations for effective collaboration.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience: None required
- Licensure/Certification: Certification as required by the North Carolina DHHR, Nurse Aide Certification, and BLS (CPR) from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
