Job Title: Nursing Technician
The Nursing Technician supports the Registered Nurse by observing and documenting patient conditions. Working under close supervision, this role assists with patient support through mobility and daily tasks as needed.
- Responsibilities:
- Support patients with daily living tasks, including meals, personal care, and mobility to aid recovery and care plans.
- Assess patients' quality of life related to nutrition, hydration, and elimination to allocate resources and anticipate needs.
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges in accordance with care plans.
- Support clinical procedures such as monitoring blood glucose, recording vital signs, obtaining EKGs, applying restraints, and addressing elimination needs.
- Maintain unit inventories of supplies and medical equipment to ensure a safe environment aligned with National Patient Safety Goals.
- Verify fall-risk patients have appropriate identification and safety signage.
- Document all clinical procedures, patient interactions, and medication use for comprehensive patient records.
- Respond promptly to delegation from registered nurses and share patient observations for effective collaboration.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience: None required
- Licensure/Certification: Certification by North Carolina DHHR, Nurse Aide Certification, BLS (CPR) from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
