Job summary

Presbyterian Espanola Hospital in Espanola, NM, is hiring a Nursing Tech II to assist with patient care in the Surgical Department, under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The role includes phlebotomy, wound care, bedside testing, and monitoring patients with the unit’s PACIS system.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent plus specialized, short-term medical/patient care training.
• Completion of PHS Non-Licensed Assistive Personnel course required before entry.
• BLS required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients and document data in patient records; collect vital signs.
• Assist with sterile procedures, wound care, phlebotomy, and dressing changes.
• Prepare patients for surgery and assist with adl activities.
• Operate unit monitoring systems and transport specimens as needed.
• Support nursing staff and ensure cleanliness and proper storage of supplies.
