Job summary

Jeff Davis Hospital in Hazlehurst, GA is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant to support patient care on the floor. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and help patients move safely while upholding dignity and comfort.

You'll document care activities, communicate changes to the nursing team, and contribute to a clean, safe environment. CNA certification is preferred but not required; a High School diploma or GED is required, with at least 18 years old.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding and toileting.
• Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration rate and blood pressure.
• Assist with mobility and transferring patients between beds, wheelchairs and other areas.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and families.
• Observe and report changes in patients' condition to nurses.
• Perform oral, hair, peri and catheter care as directed.
• Weigh patients and document weight as required.
• Answer call lights promptly and position within reach of patients.
• Document care activities and maintain accurate patient records.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment, change bed linens, and assist with safety measures.
• Restock supplies and assist with procedures as directed.
• Transport patients using lift equipment when needed.

Assist with Daily Living (ADLs). This includes helping patients with bathing, dressing, grooming feeding and toileting.

Monitoring Vital Signs, taking and recording vital signs like temperature, pulse, respiration rate, and blood pressure.

Assisting with Mobility, helping patients move, including transferring them between beds, wheelchairs, and other areas, as well as assisting with walking and exercise when appropriate.

Providing Comfort and Support, developing nurturing relationships with patients and families, and providing emotional support. This may also involve assistance with comfort devices and safety measures.

Observing and Reporting, carefully observing patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions, noting any changes, and reporting them to the primary nurse/charge nurse.

Perform oral care, hair care, peri care, and catheter care.

Weighs patients and documents weight in appropriate area

Answers call lights for all patients in a courteous and timely manner; Positions call lights within reach of the patient.

Documentation, maintaining accurate patient records and documenting care activities.

Maintaining a clean and safe environment, changing bed linens, may at times be required to clean rooms, and ensure safety measures are in place such as bed alarms.

Stoking supplies, replenishing medical supplies in patient rooms and other areas

Assisting with procedures, assisting nursing staff and/or provider as directed.

Transporting patients, understands and can safely use lift equipment, and assist with moving patients throughout the hospital for treatments, tests, procedures or activities, utilizing wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
