Join to apply for the Nursing Team Leader - Pulmonary (6SE) role at DCH Health System.

The Team Leader functions as the unit-based clinical leader with responsibility for staff supervision, patient flow, patient safety, resource utilization, mentoring, shift assignments, and overall quality of care. The role involves planning, coordinating, and directing quality, compassionate care, maintaining nursing standards, and fostering positive relationships with patients and families. Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, the Team Leader also provides and coordinates in-services and continuing education, participates in PI activities, and assesses employee performance.

The position requires availability to work weekends and holidays, with shifts including 8 or 12 hours, aimed at providing daily Team Leader support.

The responsibilities include:

  1. Leading unit activities, staffing, and responding during crises.
  2. Promoting efficient patient flow and safety.
  3. Serving as a clinical resource, especially for new staff and complex cases.
  4. Implementing techniques to improve patient care processes.
  5. Ensuring proper care delivery through staff orientation, documentation review, and staff huddles.
  6. Conducting rounds and direct patient care as needed.
  7. Maintaining records related to orientation and competencies.
  8. Adhering to productivity, revenue, and expense goals.
  9. Ensuring compliance with policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  10. Participating in PI programs and professional development.
  11. Managing staff performance, including hiring, training, and discipline.

Minimum requirements include an Alabama RN license, one year of nursing experience, and BLS certification. A Bachelor's degree is preferred. The role demands customer service skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in English is required.

Working conditions involve decision-making, communication, conflict resolution, and potential exposure to hazards, requiring physical stamina and the use of protective equipment.
