Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia is seeking a Technical Assistant - Nursing to provide patient care, clerical support, and phlebotomy services under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role includes room turnover, equipment cleaning, and ensuring safety and infection control across the unit.

Schedule requires 5 shifts per week, with evenings and weekend day shifts. Prior healthcare experience is preferred; Virginia nursing certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of relevant healthcare experience preferred.
• Certification from Virginia Board of Nursing - preferred.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in written form.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care services under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Perform clerical tasks, phlebotomy, and safety attendant duties as assigned.
• Maintain supplies and equipment and follow infection control policies.
