Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia's UVA Community Health is seeking a Technical Assistant II - Nursing to provide patient care under RN supervision in a hospital and community settings. You will help with basic nursing tasks, maintain supplies, and support infection control as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required: high school diploma or GED, CNA/Phlebotomy/CMA certification, and strong computer skills.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
1 year of experience preferred. Previous healthcare experience preferred.
Current CNA, Phlebotomy, or CMA/CCMA/RMA certification with state required.
Basic computer knowledge with demonstrated administrative skills.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
High level of compassion, desire to help others and highly motivated.

Responsibilities

Patient Care: Provides and documents assistance to patients under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse.
Assists/provides patient care throughout the entire patient experience under the direct supervision of the physician and/or the registered nurse.
Assists in room turnaround, including appropriate cleaning of equipment, supplies, and environment.
Organizes supplies and equipment as needed.
Nursing Expertise: Assists with patient care while complying with Department, Hospital, and Regulatory policies and procedures.
Understands concepts of sterile and non-sterile techniques.
Adheres to safety measures.
