Job summary

Grady Health System is seeking a Nursing Support Technician (NST) for the Central Staffing/Float unit. This full-time role runs 3 shifts, 7a–7p, and works under supervision of registered or licensed staff to deliver age-appropriate care and support daily living activities.

The NST performs basic to advanced tasks as competency validated, contributes to safety, and utilizes clinical technology in a fast-paced hospital environment. A CNA + 2+ years hospital experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or Red Cross is required.
  • Current Georgia Nursing Assistant Certification or PCT Program certification or Basic Nursing Fundamental Course completion is required.
  • CNA and 2+ years of patient care experience in a hospital setting is highly preferred.

Job Summary

This position is for the Central Staffing/Float dept. 3 FT days 7a-7p

The Nursing Support Technician (NST), under the supervision of the Professional Registered Nurse, the Licensed Practical Nurse, and/or the Physician, provides age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintains a safe environment, collects information, communicates effectively, and utilizes technology. Provides personal care of selected patients, assists with activities of daily living, provides comfort measures and nourishments, and performs selected tasks and therapies as delegated by a licensed professional. In addition, the NST roles include performing both basic and advance skills and task as determined by competency validation. NSTs may be cross ta.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from AHA or Red Cross.

  • One of the following: Current Georgia Nursing Assistant CertificationOR Certificate of completion from an accredited Patient Care Technician (PCT) ProgramOR Completion of a Basic Nursing Fundamental Course as evidence on official transcript from an accredited School of Nursing.

  • CNA and 2+ years of patient care experience in a hospital setting highly preferred
