Job summary

Grady Health System is seeking a registered nurse to provide age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care and to coordinate care across settings with a focus on safety and quality. The role emphasizes advocacy, leadership, and teamwork to support patient outcomes.

The successful candidate will have an ASN, BSN preferred, GA RN license, BLS, and ACLS eligibility for critical areas. New grads may apply to the nurse residency program.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing strongly preferred.
  • One year or more of RN experience required.
  • Current Georgia license as a Registered Nurse required.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) card required.
  • ACLS certification required for all listed areas; new graduates must obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide age-appropriate, culturally sensitive nursing care.
  • Educate patients and families about healthy practices and treatments.
  • Coordinate and assure continuity of care across settings and caregivers.
  • Utilize nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse, provides age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintains a safe environment, educates patients and their families about healthy practices and treatment modalities, assures continuity of care, coordinates care across settings and among caregivers, manages information, communicates effectively, and utilizes technology. Utilizes the nursing process to provide and plan care (i.e. assessment, nurse diagnosis, planning and coordination, implementation, and evaluation). Additional roles include advocacy, performance improvement, leadership, problem solving, delegation, conflict resolution, and team player.

A minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing is required
A Bachelors of Science in Nursing is strongly preferred
One (1) or more years* experience as a Registered Nurse required
Specific area of specialty previous experience preferred
Current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse required
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) health care provider card required
ACLS Certification required for all the following areas. New Graduates must obtain within 90 days of employment :
All Critical Care
Emergency Care Center (ECC)
GI/Cath Laboratory
Labor & Delivery
All Intermediate Care
Post Acute Care Unit (PACU)
