Job description

Responsible for the administrative or programmatic management of designated functions for a specialized department or area. The SRO Nursing Supervisor will act in cohort with nurse managers as liaison for all nursing units and ancillary departments within the Medical Center. This individual will work closely with the RN Bed Coordinator to support and augment adequate staffing. The SRO Nursing Supervisor will adhere to prescribed algorithms and guidelines for making staffing decisions. As Incident Commander for Emergency Management, the SRO Nursing Supervisor will coordinate the dissemination of information during emergency response situations. The SRO Nursing Supervisor acts as after-hours contact for Employee Health Risk Management and Patient Representatives. The SRO Nursing Supervisor will manage staffing for PACU-B and ED Boarders.

• Assess the needs of internal/external customers according to established professional standards and institutional guidelines/policy/procedure.
• Organize and prioritize services and activities considering the needs of the customers.
• Participate in quality improvement program development and professional growth activities for self while assisting in the professional development of others.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of services.
• Demonstrate leadership in the delivery of services.
• Provide for a safe environment and safe delivery of services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $48.38 - $64.00 Hourly

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
• Experience: 3 years of relevant experience.
• Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. ACLS certification is preferred. A valid Virginia Driver's License (VADL) may be required.

Physical Demands

• Standing for prolonged periods and frequent traveling.
• Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail and legible writing.
• Ability to lift/push/pull 20-50 lbs.
• Exposure to blood/body fluids and infectious diseases may occur.
