Job summary

The Rehabilitation & Nursing Center at Everett is seeking an Evening Nursing Supervisor/Manager for the 3pm-11pm shift (M-F). Graduation from an accredited RN or LPN program and a current MA license are required.

Candidates should have at least three years of relevant experience, including supervisory responsibilities, and hold CPR, Accucheck, and IV Therapy certifications. Responsibilities include guiding clinical decisions, ensuring residents’ plans are implemented, and coordinating with the

Qualifications

• Three years of experience with one year of long-term or sub-acute care experience.
• One year of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the resource to staff in clinical and managerial decision making, delegate responsibilities to staff.
• Participate in inspections (surveys) made by authorized agencies.
• Participate in and assure appropriate assessment of residents, validate nursing staff’s clinical decisions.
• Develop, implement, and communicate resident’s plan of care.
• Make frequent rounds on nursing unit(s) to ensure staff perform as per nursing standards and resident needs.
• Monitor documentation procedures of nursing staff and report to the Director of Nursing.
• Follow work assignments and schedules to complete tasks.
• Cooperate with interdepartmental staff to meet resident needs.
• Meet with staff regularly to identify and correct issues and improve services.
• Provide direct care as needed and ensure fair disciplinary actions.

Educational Requirements:

Graduation from an accredited RN or LPN program required.

Experience Required:

Three years of experience with one year of long term or sub-acute care experience required. One year of supervisory experience preferred.

Professional Licensure and Certification Required:

Current MA State RN or LPN. Responsible for annual re-licensure per regulations. Compliance with yearly CEU requirements. Current CPR, Accucheck and IV Therapy certification.

Administrative Functions

• 1.Serves as the resource to staff in clinical and managerial decision making, delegates responsibilities to staff.


• 2.Participates in inspections (surveys) made by authorized agencies.


• 3.Participates in and assures appropriate assessment of residents, validates nursing staff’s clinical decisions.


• 4.Participates in the development, implementation, and communication of resident’s plan of care.


• 5.Making frequent rounds on nursing unit(s) to ensure that all personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with established nursing standards, and that all resident’s needs are being met


• 6.Monitors documentation procedures of nursing staff. Follows- up on problem areas with employees and makes oral/written reports to the Director of Nursing

Personnel Functions

• 1.Follows work assignments, and schedules to complete assigned tasks.


• 2.Cooperates with interdepartmental personnel, as well as other departments within the facility to assure that services are properly maintained to meet the needs of the residents.


• 3.Meets with staff on regularly scheduled basis to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/ or improvement services.


• 4.Functions in the role of staff nurse or provides direct care to meet the needs of the residents as needed/ required.
