Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a seasoned RN to supervise the nursing staff on the 11-7 shift at Eagleville Hospital. You will coordinate admissions, discharge planning, and clinical operations, serving as a clinical resource and role model for staff.

The role requires leadership, at least five years of RN experience in psychiatric or drug/alcohol settings, and strong communication. You will manage staffing, training, and emergency response.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing with PA RN license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing staff on the 11-7 shift and perform rounds twice per shift.
• Coordinate admissions, discharges and service changes; prepare discharge summaries.
• Complete staff performance evaluations and manage staffing schedules.
• Interact with managed care and insurance entities as necessary.
• Activate fire and disaster plans and participate in mandated training.
• Support quality improvement activities and supervised patient care.

Job SummaryResponsible for supervision of nursing staff on the assigned shift, the nursing care providedand related administrative and professional nursing activities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:ClinicalAvailable to offer direct and indirect clinical support as needed.Available by pager to coordinate or intervene in medical/psychiatric emergencies, complex clinical issues or situations.Available to answer daily clinical problems and questions generated by nursing staff and other team members.Acts as a clinical resource and role model for nursing staff.Monitors care of patients with wounds, anticoagulants, seizuresReports pertinent clinical information to the Director of Nursing.Coordinate the admission process as needed. 11-7 Shift: Responsible for conducting all aspects of admission process including insurance pre-certification, etc.Direct responsibility for discharge summary process.AdministrativeResponsible for supervision of nursing staff on the assigned shift.Makes rounds to all nursing units twice per shift.Obtains shift report from nursing units and relays pertinent information to the next shift.Completes staff performance evaluations.Responsible for staffing schedules and daily unit staffing.Interacts with managed care and all insurance entities as necessary.Enters admissions, discharges, transfers and service changes in the Hospital Information System.Activates fire and disaster plans.Reviews staff timecards in EZ Labor and time accruals for accuracy.Works with Security to ensure safety of patients and staff.Oversees emergencies.Facilitates 302 petitions and emergency transfers.Completes supervisory report and checks 24-hour census for accuracy.Other Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for attending and ensuring that all staff members participate in mandated training.Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.Education / Research / ProfessionalAssists with orientation of new employees; ensures training specific to employee job dutiesParticipates on appropriate committees and task forces.Involved in research and other professional activities.Leads and coordinates patient care monitoring as required.Supports quality improvement activities.Responsible for attending all mandated training.7. Management experience in a psychiatricsetting and/or drug/alcohol facility (evaluated individually). Ability to communicate well, both orally and written. Establish good rapport with staff and patients. Leadership skills, supervisory experience, ability to organize and facilitate patient care in any inpatient unit within the Hospital, training in group dynamics and group therapy, physical and psychological assessment skills (evaluated individually), ability to work within a team structure.Physical RequirementsWorks in office setting. Must move between buildings and units. Some stair climbing.Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. (only in assisted lifts). Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.Work EnvironmentExposure to infectious diseases. Required to intervene in psychiatric emergencies. Must work 1 weekend per month.
