Job summary

Horizon Care Center in New York is seeking an RN Supervisor to plan, direct, and coordinate the Nursing Department’s programs in accordance with regulations. You will supervise staff, manage performance, and ensure compliant, quality resident care.

The role requires RN licensure, a BSN is preferred, and 2+ years of supervisory experience in a long-term care setting. PRI and IV certifications are a plus. Strong leadership and QA focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current licensure.
• BSN or related health care field preferred.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience in a long-term care facility preferred.
• PRI certification a plus.
• Knowledge of MDS and Care Plans.
• IV certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, developing, coordinating and directing the Nursing Department programs and activities.
• Directly supervise assigned staff, conduct performance appraisals and manage timekeeping and attendance.
• Oversee hiring, firing, advancement and promotions considerations to Department Head.
• Supervise nursing personnel on shift to ensure quality care in a safe environment.
• Evaluate resident care via on-site observations and care plan quality checks.
• Coordinate Night Supervisors and other staff duties.
• Ensure staff responsibilities are fulfilled and implement disciplinary measures as needed.
• Identify educational needs and conduct staff inservices.
• Lead investigations and resolutions of significant issues in collaboration with management.
• Maintain resident rights and ensure documentation accuracy and follow-up.
