Job summary

The Illinois Department of Corrections seeks a Nursing Supervisor to staff the Health Care delivery unit, laboratory, radiology, and nursing programs at Dixon Correction Center. The incumbent will supervise staff, assign and review work, and coordinate day-to-day operations.

You will monitor care quality, assist with monthly reports, support CQI data collection, and audit processes. A BSN is preferred; RN license in Illinois and 4 years college plus 3 years RN experience are required.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of four (4) years of college.
• Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
• Requires three (3) years of progressively responsible Registered Nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs, coordinates, and provides guidelines to staff in health care delivery, laboratories, radiology, and nursing programs.
• Serves as full line supervisor.
• Provides direction on nursing treatments and procedures.
• Schedules special clinics and ensures proper care and follow-up.
• Monitors specialty referrals to external specialists and on-site clinics.
• Assists with data collection for Monthly Reports to the Warden's office.
• Performs other duties within the scope of duties enumerated.
