Job summary

Calais Community Hospital seeks a Nursing Supervisor under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer to supervise nursing operations and coordinate age-appropriate patient care in the absence of unit leadership. The role requires a BSN preferred, current Maine RN licensure, ACLS/PALS/BCLS, at least four years in acute care, and proven leadership in communication, organization, and crisis management.

This is a full-time night shift position with weekend coverage, and the hospital offers

Qualifications

• BSN preferred and current Maine RN licensure or eligibility for licensure by endorsement.
• ACLS, PALS, BCLS, NRPS within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum 4 years acute care experience.
• Demonstrates leadership in communications, organization, and conflict management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing operations and coordinate age-appropriate patient care in the absence of CNO and Unit Directors.
• Provide overall management of nursing services and maintain confidentiality while supporting hospital mission.
• Cover shifts and ensure rapid, efficient response in emergency situations.

Job description

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, the Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the hospital. They assume responsibility for the coordination of age appropriate patient care activities in the absence of the CNO, utilizing knowledge of standards, policies and procedures outlined for the facility. They coordinate nursing care activities within the nursing services in the absence of the Unit Directors and provide overall management of the facility.
