Your duties may vary from client to client as we strive to tailor our services to meet each individual’s unique needs. You will work directly with our senior clients and their families as a caregiver. You will have a daily care plan prepared by a care manager specific to your client’s personal care and safety needs.

Medical and Nursing Student Job Responsibilities

Just like the patients you would care for as a nurse, each of our senior clients and their families have different needs. Daily responsibilities may include:

MAINTAIN INDEPENDENCE

• Drive seniors to appointments, meetings, and church services.
• Help seniors with their local West Valley shopping.
• Go to lunch or grab an ice cream with your client.

RESTORE DIGNITY

• Assist with bathing and grooming to keep your client looking and feeling their best.
• Manage incontinence care to avoid embarrassment.
• Perform light housekeeping to reduce stress at home.

KEEP HEALTHY

• Prepare nutritious meals to maintain vitality.
• Provide medication reminders to avoid hospital readmissions.
• Ensure safety with memory care and safety protocols.

SUPPORT OTHERS

• Assist with rehabilitation and physical therapy exercises.
• Observe and report changes in condition to the case manager.
• Support hospice care by being attentive and responsive.

Requirements

To be considered for our student caregiver roles, you must meet the following requirements:

HEART FOR SENIORS:

• Genuine desire to work with seniors.

ABILITY TO WORK:

• Typically 4, 8, or 12-hour shifts in the Phoenix area.
• Ability to work around your school schedule.
• Optional overtime often available.

SENIOR SAFETY:

• Pass a criminal background check.
• Pass drug screening.
• Negative TB test.

TRANSPORTATION:

• Reliable car.
• Proof of auto insurance.
• Valid driver’s license.
