Fairview is looking for a Nursing Station Technician (NST) Nursing Assistant/Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) for the Outpatient Observation Medical Surgical Unit at Fairview Ridges Hospital (Burnsville, MN). This role involves working under the direction of nursing personnel to provide patient care while functioning as a nursing assistant and health unit coordinator.
This position is a 0.75 FTE, working 60 hours per 2-week pay period. It involves 12-hour shifts, every third weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun), on the night shift (7 pm - 7:30 am).
The Nursing Station Technician is responsible for assisting professional caregivers in delivering patient care, transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, reordering, and stocking supplies. The role includes clerical duties, transcription, and maintaining the patient care unit desk area. It involves coordinating communication on the unit. The NST works under the supervision of a professional nurse and may or may not have specific patient care assignments based on unit needs and the discretion of the manager or charge nurse.
This hybrid position combines Nursing Assistant and Health Unit Coordinator roles to deliver direct patient care and administrative tasks.
In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse, demonstrating excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team in a fast-paced environment.
