Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a Nursing Staffing Coordinator to manage nursing schedules and coordinate staffing within a hospital setting. The role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to handle clerical duties to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Experience in staffing or scheduling within a hospital setting is preferred.
• Strong organizational and coordinating abilities.
• Ability to prepare professional correspondence and scheduling communications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing staffing schedules to support patient care.
• Assist and advise supervisors with scheduling issues.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and regulatory standards for files.
• Schedule educational opportunities for nursing staff.
• Under supervision, schedule and inform nursing staff of assigned shifts.
• Distribute nursing schedules promptly to staff.
• Notify supervisors of staffing ratio concerns.
• Draft letters, emails, reports and presentations.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee data.

Become the Nursing Staffing Coordinator you always wanted to be

• Work with nursing leaders to identify improvements in effectiveness of nursing department staffing.
• Assist and advise supervisors of any problems with nursing schedule.
• Ensure employee/contract/student files comply with Joint Commission and regulatory standards.
• Provide scheduling of educational opportunities to nursing staff.
• Under CNO supervision, schedule, coordinate, and inform nursing staff of their assigned schedule.
• Distribute nursing schedule in a timely manner.
• Advise supervisors of staffing ratio problems.
• Draft professional and appropriate letters e-mails, reports and presentations.
• Maintains confidentiality of employee personal and financial data.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in staffing or scheduling within a hospital setting is preferred.
