Job summary

Southwest Virginia Community College is seeking a Simulation Lab Instructor for the Nursing Program in Virginia. This is a full-time, nine-month teaching position with potential for renewal based on performance.

The instructor will develop, deliver, and assess clinical simulations designed for nursing courses, reporting to the Dean of Health Technologies. Responsibilities include coordinating simulations, mentoring staff, maintaining the lab, and ensuring alignment with program objectives.

Qualifications

Current unrestricted or multistate license to practice as a registered nurse in Virginia.
Bachelor's degree required and must be actively enrolled in a graduate program.
Two years of recent, related clinical experience.
Demonstrate simulation knowledge and skills in that methodology.
Proficient with computer technology, including the use of a PC and relevant software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
An acceptable background check for the successful candidate is also required.

Responsibilities

Participate and work with faculty in the development, implementation, and integration of simulations in the curriculum as well as evaluation.
Serve as faculty to students in teaching scenario/learning situations of nursing skills, simulations, and debriefing sessions
Demonstrate simulation knowledge and skills in that methodology and shall engage in ongoing professional development in the use of simulation;
