Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate simulation activities that align with nursing curriculum outcomes, program learning outcomes, NCLEX preparation, and accreditation standards.
  • Manage daily operations of the simulation, including scheduling, inventory management, equipment maintenance, laboratory readiness, and compliance with institutional policies.
  • Teach simulation and clinical skills using an evidence-based approach that promotes an optimal learning environment, including the operation of high-, medium-, and low-fidelity simulators, task trainers, computerized simulators, audiovisual systems, and simulation software to support student learning.
  • Serve as the simulation expert in developing simulation experiences that follow INACSL standards.
  • Collaborate with nursing faculty on simulation scenarios, remediation activities, and competency assessments.
  • Provide orientation, training, and ongoing support to faculty regarding simulation methodologies, debriefing strategies, equipment operation, and best practices.
  • Support faculty during the planning and running of simulation event preparing applications, props placements, and moulage set up to create a realistic healthcare setting.
  • Coordinate student laboratory experiences and ensure adequate preparation, resources, supplies, and equipment for all scheduled activities.
  • Monitor laboratory safety standards and ensure compliance with regulatory, institutional, and accreditation requirements.
  • Maintain, collect, analyze, and report accurate records and data related to laboratory utilization, equipment maintenance, simulation activities, student participation, and program assessment to support continuous quality improvement, annual program evaluation, and accreditation reporting.
  • Coordinate simulation and laboratory schedules across nursing programs and campuses as assigned.
  • Practices and reflects knowledge of FERPA with respect to protecting the privacy of student education records.

The Simulation Coordinator reports directly to the Nursing Director/Dean of Nursing and serves as the operational leader for simulation and laboratory activities within the Nursing Program. This position is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of simulation-based learning experiences that support student achievement, program outcomes, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards. The coordinator collaborates with faculty, administration, and community partners to ensure a high-quality learning environment that promotes clinical judgment, psychomotor competency, and student success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate simulation activities that align with nursing curriculum outcomes, program learning outcomes, NCLEX preparation, and accreditation standards.
  • Manage daily operations of the simulation, including scheduling, inventory management, equipment maintenance, laboratory readiness, and compliance with institutional policies.

Education/Experience:

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required.
  • Current unrestricted Registered Nurse license.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Minimum of three years of nursing clinical practice experience.
  • Experience in simulation-based education, skills laboratory instruction, or academic nursing preferred.
