Base pay range

$58,970.00/yr - $64,003.00/yr

Statement Of Primary Purpose

Provide instructional services to nursing students in the classroom, simulation lab, and clinical setting.

Classification

Curriculum faculty, full-time, exempt

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

  • Prepare and teach assigned courses in accordance with course outlines and published course schedule
  • Maintain accurate records for each course taught
  • Prepare, review, and update course outlines regularly
  • Assist with the development and implementation of simulation activities and exercises in the nursing lab
  • Recommend and assist with curriculum revisions as necessary
  • Assist in student recruitment, advising, and retention
  • Serve on college standing committees and attend meetings
  • Participate in curriculum advisory committee meetings, if applicable
  • Assist in the selection and ordering of equipment, supplies, and textbooks
  • Participate in college events and activities
  • Attend college commencements
  • Cooperate in scheduled student evaluations of the instructor and the course
  • Keep regularly posted office hours in accordance with college policy
  • Submit all college reports in an accurate, timely fashion
  • Attend instructor and departmental meetings as scheduled
  • Be responsible for professional development and maintaining professional competence
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and others
  • Provide advising and registration services to students
  • Perform clinical education duties as assigned
  • Assign and grade clinical education assignments and paperwork
  • Assist with clinical coordination as needed
  • Assist in the selection of a new nursing cohort annually
  • Be available to teach a 4-week summer course in addition to the regular curriculum

Additional Duties And Responsibilities

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Required: BSN with commitment to obtain MSN within 3 years

Preferred: MSN

Knowledge and Skills

4 years clinical experience required, community college teaching experience preferred

Physical Demands

Standing required with Instructor-led courses and clinical visits

Licensing Requirement

Unencumbered North Carolina RN License

Working Conditions and Environment

Typical campus environment. Travel for training and clinical visits as necessary

Equipment Operation

PC, copier, phones, standard office and educational applications. Nursing equipment
