Job summary

Active Day in New Jersey is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care for members under physician orders and emergent needs. The role requires coordinating care with a range of disciplines and educating staff, members, families, and the community.

Responsibilities include medication administration, assessments, vital signs, daily activity assistance and emergency response. The position may involve leadership duties and continuing nursing education as needed.

Qualifications

• RN license, CPR certification, and malpractice insurance if applicable.
• 1-2 years full-time equivalent experience in a licensed health care facility; geriatric/long-term care preferred; bilingual English/Spanish may be required.
• Knowledge of company policies and NJ DoH Standards for Adult Day Health Care Licensure.
• Knowledge of applicable state and federal environmental and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to demonstrate strong English communication skills, interpersonal and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care and administers medication per plan of care, physician orders, and emergent needs; documents progress in medical records.
• Performs initial nursing assessments, monitors vital signs, and reports abnormalities; coordinates with dietary, pharmacy, therapy and others.
• Assists with daily activities (hygiene, meals, ambulation, transfers, social activities).
• Provides health education and instruction to staff, members, families, and community; participates in facility marketing.
• Provides emergency care and prepares incident reports as required.
• Participate in continuing nursing education; may assist as Director of Nursing when needed.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to members in accordance with physician's orders and emergent needs. Duties involve coordinating care with other professional disciplines and providing instruction and assistance to members, staff, family members and the general community. The Registered Nurse ensures that all work complies with company policies and procedures, safety and regulatory laws and standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides nursing care and administers medication to members according to individual plan of care,physician's orders and emergent needs, and documents clinical and progress notes on themember's medical record.
• Performs initial nursing assessments, observes, monitors and documents members' vital signs andresponses to treatments and medications, reporting abnormalities to physician. Coordinates carewith other member care services (ie: Dietary, Pharmacy, Dental, Rehabilitation, Physical/Speech/Occupational Therapy, Audiology, DME).
• Assists members as needed with daily functional activities, including but not limited to, hygiene,meals, ambulation, arrivals and departures, and social activities.
• Provides health education and instruction to staff, members, family members and the generalcommunity as directed. Participates in facility marketing activities.
• Provides emergency care and prepares incident reports as required.
• May perform duties of Director of Nursing as required.
• Participate in continuing nursing education.
• Exposure to biological agents (ie: body fluids, micro-organisms)

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: RN License, CPR certification, and valid malpractice insurance policy if applicable.
• Experience: 1-2 years full time equivalent experience in a licensed health care facility. Geriatric andlong term care experience preferred. May be required to be bilingual (English/Spanish).
