Job summary

AdventHealth is a faith-based health care organization committed to extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ. This full-time, day-shift NPD role is based at the Maitland/Altamonte Springs campuses in Florida, aligned with our mission to care for body, mind and spirit.

You will guide nursing professional development, support evidence-based practice, and lead education initiatives. The role requires RN licensure, BLS, and NaPD experience; opportunities for growth and a mission-driven team.

Qualifications

  • Effective professional communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of ANA/ANPD scope and standards for Nursing Professional Development.
  • Self-directed, creative, and demonstrates initiative to fulfill the seven roles of the NPD practitioner.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards (CMS, OSHA) for professional specialty served.
  • Education: Bachelor’s of Nursing.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Work experience: 2+ years of nursing experience in a hospital setting.
  • Strongly prefer 2 years acute care perinatal (women's) nursing experience.
  • Experience as preceptor and teaching experience preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience as an NPD Practitioner.
  • Licenses: RN; BLS; ANCC-NPD; CCRN.

  • Works with others to identify problems and solutions and collaboratively create and assists in the implementation of the changes planned.
  • Creates a supportive environment for nursing research, scientific inquiry, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
  • Disseminates evidence-based practice findings through educational programs, courses, and other activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • [Preferred] Experience as preceptor
  • [Preferred] Previous teaching experience in formal/informal settings
  • [Preferred] 1+ years of experience as an NPD Practitioner
  • [Preferred] Licenses and Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • [Preferred] Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)
  • [Preferred] ANCC - Nursing Professional Development Certification (ANCC-NPD)
  • [Preferred] Acute/Critical Care Nursing - Adult (CCRN)
