Job summary

Hartford HealthCare in Manchester Memorial Hospital is seeking a Nursing Professional Development Practitioner (RN) to influence competency and support learners within the Nursing Professional Development framework. This role targets RNs passionate about education and professional development in nursing.

The role is based at Manchester Memorial Hospital, in the Med Education and Development unit, with a full-time day shift.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Minimum of 3 years of active clinical nursing experience.
• Experience as a preceptor.

Responsibilities

• Use educational design processes and adult learning principles to address knowledge and practice gaps.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership to assess learning needs and develop educational programs.
• Promote professional nursing practice and quality patient care according to ANA standards.
• Mentor nursing professionals and support ongoing professional learning.
• Utilize tools for competency management during various phases of practice.
• Develop and evaluate onboarding programs for new colleagues.
• Implement change management strategies to transform processes.
• Promote scientific inquiry and the use of evidence to enhance NPD practice.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

Education:

• BSN required

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of active clinical nursing experience
• At least 1 year in an acute care environment or specialty for ambulatory/ancillary settings
• Experience as a preceptor

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current RN License from CT DPH
• NPD or Clinical Specialty Certification within two years of hire/transfer
• BLS certification required
