Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA seeks a Nursing Professional Development Generalist (PT/PRN) to lead orientation and staff development for nursing and clinical personnel.

The RN Educator applies adult learning principles and evaluates outcomes to ensure high-quality patient care. The role emphasizes collaboration, ongoing professional development, and alignment with Penn State Health’s mission.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
  • Two years direct care clinical experience required.
  • Current RN license in the state of employment (or multi-state license).

The Registered Nurse Educator supports the quality of care provided to patients nursing staff through optimal orientation programs, ongoing evaluation of competence, and support of lifelong learning. The Registered Nurse Educator has in-depth nursing knowledge, clinical expertise, and knowledge of adult learning. The RN Educator is responsible for planning, conducting needs assessment and evaluating orientation and staff development programs for nursing and clinical personnel. The RN Educator will assess gaps in knowledge, skills and practice to identify learning needs for assigned unit or population through data collection, formal and informal assessments and stakeholder collaboration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Two (2) years direct care clinical experience required
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
