Job summary

Penn State Health Cornerstone Family Practice in Lititz, PA is expanding its clinical team. The Medical Assistant will room patients, take vitals, perform POC testing, EKGs and phlebotomy, and administer vaccines as needed.

Administrative duties include handling calls, messages, faxes, and pulling records. The role requires teamwork and an eagerness to learn in a busy primary care setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification or registration through Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistants within 90 days or CMA/RMA certification required.
• BLS certification required or to be obtained within 6 months of employment.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program (preferred).
• Previous outpatient experience preferred.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Penn State Health Cornerstone Family Practice office is expanding its clinical team! Located in iconic Lititz, PA, the Cornerstone office is a primary care office that receives upwards of 175 patients/day on average. The Medical Assistant can anticipate working one late evening a week and one Saturday per month. For the Medical Assistant (MA) position, the MA would be responsible for rooming patients, collecting vitals, managing Point-of-Care Testing, performing EKGs, and phlebotomy. The MA will also administer vaccines, as needed.

The administrative duties will consist of making and answering phone calls and messages, monitoring the E-message pool, sending faxes, and pulling patient records.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S)

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must meet current eligibility to to sit for the exam with attainment of certification or registration through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistants within 90-days of employment date or current active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistant certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain BLS Certification within 6 months of employment date.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S)

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
• Previous outpatient experience preferred.
