Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in New Jersey is seeking a Nursing Prof Dev Practitioner for Oncology to lead orientation, competency assessment and continuing education on the Oncology units. The role combines clinical nursing with education, program development, and performance improvement to enhance patient care.

A BSN, active NJ RN license, BLS/ACLS, chemo certification and National Nursing Certification are required, with 2 years Oncology/med-surg experience.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification.
• BSN required.
• Minimum 2 years Oncology/med-surg experience.
• Chemo certification required and National Nursing Certification.
• Certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements and evaluates programs for orientation, competency assessment, training and continuing education for all levels of staff on the Oncology units.
• Provides nursing care in the acute care setting within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards.
• Performs duties in any nursing capacity as needed.
• Assures safety in practice by maintaining knowledge and advancing knowledge of the patient care team.
• Utilizes the nursing process to individualize the plan of care to address specific patient needs.

Essential Functions:

• Develops, implements and evaluates programs for orientation, competency assessment, training and continuing education for all levels of staff on the Oncology units
• The Nursing Prof Dev Practitioner provides nursing care in the acute care setting within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards
• Performs duties in any nursing capacity as needed
• Assures safety in practice by maintaining a realization of your own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others of the patient care team by communication with and utilizing resource persons and programs available
• Utilizes the nursing process in all aspects of the provision of care, individualizing the plan of care to address specific patient needs

To be considered for this Nursing Prof Dev Practitioneropportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing, current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification. A BSN is required. 2 years of Oncology/med-surg experience is required. Chemo certification required and National Nursing Certification required. If not certified at the time of hire, they are expected to receive certification within one year of hire.

This position offers a consistent 40 hours per week on the day shift.
