Job summary

ProMedica Toledo Hospital is seeking a Nursing Practice Specialist to support ongoing learning and professional development for nurses. You will deliver educational activities focused on patient care, mentor clinicians, and contribute to practice-based research.

You will also guide departments in implementing and sustaining Evidence-Based Practice across ProMedica. You will serve as a role model for staff and students while maintaining required licensure and pursuing certification as mandated by

Qualifications

• MSN degree required; DNP preferred.
• Current RN license in OH and/or MI.
• Experience in adult learning in healthcare.
• Proficiency with MS Office, EPIC EHR, SharePoint, Health Stream LMS.
• Six Sigma, Lean, Quality Improvement, Performance Improvement and change management experience.
• 3–5 years direct patient care clinical experience with 3–5 years educational experience (unit-based educator or NPD).
• RN license in good standing; ability to obtain licensure in OH/MI within 6 months.
• EBP-related certification (e.g., RN-BC or EBP) preferred and to be maintained during employment.

It should not be considered exhaustive.REQUIREMENTSEducation: Must enroll in Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree program within two years from start date in position with completion of MSN within 5 years of start date in position. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required; Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) preferred. Demonstrated competence in area of specialty.Skills: Commitment to providing adult learning in the healthcare setting; Computer proficiency required including (but not limited to) Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & SharePoint, EPIC EHR, and Health Stream LMS. Must have experience with computer-based learning. Experience with Six Sigma, Lean Management, Quality Improvement, Performance Improvement, Evidence-Based Practice and/or change process required.Years of Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of direct-patient care clinical experience supported by minimum of 3-5 years educational experience preferable as a unit-based educator or Nursing Professional Development (NPD) specialist.License: Must hold current license in good standing as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio and/or State of Michigan. Must be able to obtain and maintain Registered Nurse licensure in both Ohio and Michigan within six months from start date in position.Certification: Must obtain certification in specialized area of nursing practice within 1 year from hire date as mandated by department leadership.
