Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University’s University Health Services (UHS) seeks a Nursing Manager to lead and supervise RN and LPN staff, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care and alignment with university policies.

You will drive quality improvement, oversee staffing and scheduling, manage budgets, and develop nursing protocols while collaborating with university nursing units and external partners. A RN license and leadership experience are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and 8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years in supervision.
Registered Nurse - Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing certification is required.

Responsibilities

Supervise and provide leadership to the Registered Nurses and LPN nursing staff; mentor nurse team leaders.
Evaluate patient care activities and support quality improvement within the department.
Develop and monitor nurse schedules to ensure safe daily coverage.
Oversee budgeting, procurement, and capital projects for nursing services.
Develop, revise, and implement unit policies and nursing protocols and goals.
Interview and hire nursing staff and oversee training for new and current employees.
