Position Summary
Provides leadership & operational oversight for an inpatient direct care unit or units. Accountable for achievement of department and hospital goals in concert with other hospital and medical staff leadership.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Evaluates the environment and makes recommendations to ensure delivery of quality service, optimal patient flow and comfort, safety, and compliance with various standards of care, regulatory/governing bodies (e.g., OSHA, JCAHO), infection control, and risk management.
Plans, leads, organizes, directs, & evaluates the delivery of patient care to achieve sustained outcomes.
Facilitates a healthy environment that promotes patient and team member safety, high reliability of processes and quality outcomes.
Embraces workplace diversity and participates in nursing organizational policy formulation and decision-making.
Ensures that a continual improvement approach is implemented to measure actual performance against established standards for nursing and patient care.
Serves as a change agent, helping leaders and team members understand the importance, impact, and process of change.
Analyzes, develops, and maintains an effective nursing delivery model reflecting patient and family needs to achieve desired outcomes.
Participates in planning and implementing new technologies, procedures, and services to support operations.
Identifies, recruits, develops, and retains top talent.
Manages team recruitment, development, mentorship, retention, supervision, evaluation, and productivity.
Develops and manages the unit/department budget, responding cost-effectively to changing needs.
Practices sound business and operational excellence.
Achieves financial and operational benchmarks by developing and monitoring budgets and expenses.
Ensures evidence-based, quality clinical nursing practices aligned with standards and research.
Demonstrates initiative and situational leadership.
Ensures an exceptional customer experience.
Acts as a liaison between team members and nursing administration.
Maintains professional accountability and involvement in professional organizations.
Supports team involvement in professional activities.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Manages HR functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching, and performance reviews.
Maintains regular attendance per policies and standards.
Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures.

Other Functions
Uses risk management concepts.
Participates in Process Improvement activities.
Interprets information to meet age-specific patient needs per policies.
Leads Hospital Care at Home virtual nursing operations, proficient in TeleHealth technology for remote patient assessments and interventions.
Collaborates with the Advanced Care at Home team.
Provides virtual and in-home nursing care according to policies.

Qualifications
Education/Training
BSN required; MSN, DNP, or graduate degree in business/health-related field preferred.
Licensure/Certification
Current RN license in Florida or NLC; BLS certification; additional certifications based on patient population (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NALS, TNCC); leadership certification within 2 years.
Experience
At least 2 years as an RN in acute care and 1 year in leadership.
