Job summary

Tal Healthcare is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing in Connecticut to oversee nursing operations in a dual-role facility, ensuring high-quality resident care and strict regulatory compliance. You will support the Director of Nursing in managing daily functions, staffing, and documentation on site.

The role requires an active RN license in Connecticut, leadership experience in long-term care, and strong knowledge of federal/state regulations.

Qualifications

• RN with supervisory experience in healthcare settings.
• Knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations.
• Ability to lead and mentor nursing staff.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing, and directing daily nursing operations in accordance with all relevant standards and regulations.
• Allocate staffing and resources to promote residents’ physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
• Coordinate with other departments and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless resident care.
• Develop, review, and implement nursing policies and procedures aligning with current standards and regulations.
• Conduct assessments of resident needs and monitor medication administration and treatment schedules for compliance.
• Schedule and perform routine resident rounds to monitor care quality and respond to urgent nursing needs.
• Participate in hiring, training, and performance evaluation of nursing staff.
• Oversee documentation, licensing status, and infection prevention and safety standards.
• Contribute to quality assurance and facility inspections, implementing corrective actions.
• Assist in budgeting and procurement of equipment and supplies for nursing services.
