Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Nursing Manager to provide leadership and strategic oversight for daily operations of the assigned unit(s). The role emphasizes fiscal stewardship, staff development, and protecting patient safety with a collaborative, continuous-improvement approach.

The selected candidate will oversee staffing, recruitment, training, and performance evaluation while ensuring quality care and regulatory compliance across all shifts.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Kentucky or compact license (Required).
• Minimum 2 years of acute care management experience (Required).
• Experience in rehab or pediatrics for Frazier Rehab candidates (Required).
• Leadership role with staff development and performance coaching (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of assigned unit(s) to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Provide strategic staffing and resource planning aligned with patient needs.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing staff competency development.
• Drive cost-conscious care delivery while maintaining safety and quality.
• Ensure timely departmental reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain strong collaboration with medical staff and inter-disciplinary teams.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and accreditation readiness.
• Uphold ethical nursing practice and professional standards.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
