Qualifications

• BSN required; RN license; BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Five years of nursing experience with at least 1 year as charge/lead nurse.
• Certifications or additional state licensure relevant to the department may be required.
• MSN preferred.
• Critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses staffing needs to provide optimal quality patient care within budget.
• Prioritizes and triages with nursing staff to optimize resource use.
• Mentors and coaches nursing staff for professional development.
• Educates staff on policies, procedures, equipment, and supplies.
• Supports compliance with regulatory standards and clinical care standards.
• Participates in departmental and hospital committee meetings and quality improvement.
• Maintains professional development related to evidence-based practice.
• Ensures effective communication of policies and practices to staff.
