An exciting and challenging position has recently opened for a Nursing Manager to oversee a busy, Acute Medical Surgical Unit. Join this trusted hospital, and lead a team of capable and compassionate nurses.

The Nursing Manager of Medical Surgical will lead an outstanding unit in one of Becker’s Great Places to Work, a medical center that has earned Five Star Ratings from Healthgrades, and that has been recognized as a Top-Performer by The Joint Commission.

Among this hospital’s most prestigiously awarded service lines is Cardiac Care and Intervention. The Med/Surg Nursing Manager will take a huge role leading the inpatient care services of this recognized program that offers Cardiovascular and Telemetry Care, Orthopedic Care, and Inpatient Oncology Services. Employing cutting-edge screening technologies and techniques, this 30+ bed Medical Surgical Unit is positioned to be one of the largest and most comprehensive in the Bay Area.

Reporting to the Administrative Director of Inpatient Services, who oversees Inpatient Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, and Rehabilitation Services, the Nursing Manager will have an integral role in the operations of this expansive unit. Supporting the Nursing Manager are two CMSRN Assistant Nurse Manager and two experienced Clinical Charge Nurses. You will also get to take an important role in developing clinical education for the unit in collaboration with unit-based and hospital-practice nurse educators.

The Manager of Medical Surgical will get to take a pivotal role in the clinical and administrative success of this large unit. You’ll work with educators and inpatient leaders to help develop and codify standards and practices that keep this Magnet-journey nursing program at the forefront of the medical field. The Med/Surg Nursing Manager will also get to serve as hospital-wide leader through optional participation in committees for employee experience, patient satisfaction, and quality improvement. Working in collaboration with leaders in finance and operations, the Manager will also get to make significant impacts on improving the operational efficiencies of this unit.
