Job summary

Qualifications

• Nursing diploma or ADN/ diploma required; BSN/MSN preferred.
• 5–7 years of nursing experience in a long-term care facility preferred.
• 3 years of leadership experience with progressive responsibilities in long-term care preferred.
• RN license and state licensure as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the director of nursing services with all functions of the nursing department and assume responsibility when the director is unavailable.
• Implement, direct, monitor, and report on new nursing techniques and standards of care.
• Coordinate nursing services with resident services to ensure continuity of care.
• Oversee assessment, planning, monitoring, and evaluation in case management and direct resident care.
• Foster an environment that supports resident rights and choices regarding care.
• Meet federal and regulatory requirements; ensure appropriate staffing levels and forecast needs.
• Assist with employment-related activities including safety, hiring, performance management, and training.
