Mass Digital Health is seeking a Temporary Float RN to provide ECMO support across various pediatric and adult units. Responsibilities include maintaining ECMO circuits and ensuring patient care under varying conditions. Candidates must possess a valid Michigan nursing license and 3 years of ICU experience.
This position offers a base wage of $55/hr with additional differential pay for evening and night shifts. Candidates are expected to float among units as needed, and maintain competency through ongoing education.

This job opening is for a Temporary Float RN position within the Central Staffing Resource Department (CSR) and ECMO. Wage: $55.00/hr base rate. Evening Shift Differential: $5.00 per hour. Night Shift Differential: $3.00 per hour. Weekend Differential: $5.00 per hour.
The position reports to the Clinical Nursing Director and Nursing Supervisor. It reports to the charge ECMO specialist for clinical issues during shifts. Supervision exercised: none.
12‑hour shifts, day/night. Location: Central Staffing Resources Specialty Cluster, ECMO. Expected to float to units where competent and qualified during times of decreased activity. Inability to work for three consecutive months will lead to automatic termination from employment at Michigan Medicine. Shifts may be cancelled or re‑scheduled; there is no weekend requirement, although professionals may be scheduled for weekends. Variable shifts apply.
All CSR employees are required to attend an annual educational blitz to complete required UM mandatories and competencies (BCLS every 2 years, Cardiac Arrest and other applicable certifications). Temporary Float Nurses are expected to work all shifts requested unless no work is available. All temporary nurses will float to all units within the cluster speciality. A temporary nurse should work 32 hours per 4‑week schedule block; four, eight (8), ten (10) or twelve (12) hour shifts may be requested in advance. Temporary nurses in the CSR clusters are not required to work weekends or holidays. They will participate in a newly designed, streamlined onboarding/orientation program, with progression dependent on clinical competency, staffing needs of individual units, and hours worked by the temporary RN.
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre‑employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer. Screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre‑employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, and transfers from other U‑M campuses.
These positions do not qualify for UMHS benefits; specific terms and conditions of employment are negotiated at the department level. These positions are not covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U‑M and the Michigan Nurses Association or the U‑M Professional Nurse Council union.
