Job summary

Blanchard Valley Health System is seeking a nursing assistant support role to assist licensed staff and physicians within the Nursing Department. Under supervision, the associate floats to various units and helps with patient care according to policies.

The position requires a high school diploma, CPR within 30 days, and ongoing RN program enrollment. Candidates must be able to work at least two shifts monthly and demonstrate strong service and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Current RN student in ADN within 12 months of graduation or BSN as junior/senior.
• CPR certification required within 30 days.
• Available to work at least 2 shifts per month.
• Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to address age-specific patient care needs per unit policies.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties assigned in the Nursing Department.
• Maintains unit competencies for patient care.
• Assist with patient care and room preparation as directed.
• Demonstrate age-appropriate care and report changes in patient status.
• Display Service Excellence and align with organizational values.
• Comply with policies and ensure quality performance.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Orders and restocks patient care supplies as needed.
• Assist RN staff with documented trained duties such as Foley, dressing changes.
