Job summary

Great Basin College in Elko, Nevada, seeks a full-time, 9-month tenure-track Nursing Instructor to educate nursing students in classroom and clinical settings, including the AAS Nursing and RN-BSN programs.

The ideal candidate has an MSN or a BSN with MSN in progress, at least 3 years of RN experience, and Nevada licensure eligibility. Teaching and distance-learning experience are valued. Travel to campus sites and service areas is possible.

Qualifications

• Master's in Nursing (MSN) or BSN with enrollment in an MSN program within one year of hire.
• Degrees must be from ACEN or CCNE-accredited programs.
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience (medical/surgical, acute care, or community health).
• Eligible for Nevada RN licensure (licensure required upon hire).
• Prior teaching experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the AAS Nursing, RN-BSN, and MAPE programs (lecture, online, and clinical).
• Provide hands-on instruction in simulation labs and clinical environments.
• Evaluate student performance and ensure achievement of learning outcomes.
• Participate in curriculum development, accreditation activities, and student advisement.
• Contribute to the nursing department and college committees.
