Job summary

Limitlessli seeks a Nursing Home Administrator for a 158-bed Maryland skilled nursing facility. The NHA will provide strategic leadership, oversee operations, and ensure high‑quality resident care while maintaining compliance with CMS and Maryland regulations.

The role includes directing department heads, managing budgets/census, driving QAPI initiatives, ensuring survey readiness, and building partnerships with residents, families, physicians, and community stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Current Maryland Nursing Home Administrator license.
  • 5+ years as a Nursing Home Administrator in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
  • Proven leadership with multidisciplinaries and strong regulatory compliance.
  • Thorough knowledge of CMS and Maryland long-term care regulations and reimbursement systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced, resident-centered healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for all facility aspects.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, Maryland state, and federal regulations governing long-term care facilities.
  • Lead and support department heads (Nursing, Rehabilitation, Dietary, Social Services, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Admissions, and Business Office).
  • Partner with the Director of Nursing to ensure delivery of high-quality clinical care and positive resident outcomes.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve quality, efficiency, resident satisfaction, and financial performance.
  • Oversee facility budgets, census development, labor management, and expense control.
  • Monitor KPIs and implement action plans to achieve goals.
  • Ensure survey readiness and lead state and federal inspections.
  • Foster a positive work environment focused on engagement, retention, and development.
  • Build relationships with residents, families, physicians, hospitals, referral partners, and community organizations.
  • Oversee admissions, census growth initiatives, and marketing with the admissions team.
  • Investigate and resolve concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure risk management, emergency preparedness, and regulatory reporting.
  • Promote QAPI initiatives.

The Opportunity:

The Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) is responsible for the overall leadership, operations, and financial performance of a skilled nursing facility. The Administrator ensures the delivery of high-quality resident care while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role oversees all facility departments, promotes operational excellence, and fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, and resident-centered care.

The Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) is a 158-bed skilled nursing facility with an average census of approximately 105 residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of the skilled nursing facility.
  • Ensure compliance with all CMS, state of Maryland, and federal regulations governing long-term care facilities.
  • Lead and support department heads, including Nursing, Rehabilitation, Dietary, Social Services, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Admissions, and Business Office.
  • Partner with the Director of Nursing to ensure the delivery of exceptional clinical care and positive resident outcomes.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies that improve quality, efficiency, resident satisfaction, and financial performance.
  • Oversee facility budgets, financial performance, census development, labor management, and expense control.

Qualifications:
  • Current and active Maryland Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) License.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Nursing Home Administrator in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting.
  • Demonstrated success managing the operations of a skilled nursing facility with strong regulatory compliance and quality outcomes.
  • Thorough knowledge of CMS regulations, Maryland long-term care regulations, and reimbursement systems.
  • Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong financial management, budgeting, and operational planning skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced, resident-centered healthcare environment.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience improving facility census, quality measures, and survey performance.
  • Experience managing facilities with 100+ residents.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite at a 158-bed skilled nursing facility in Maryland with an average daily census of approximately 105 residents. The Administrator is expected to provide visible leadership throughout the facility, maintain regular interaction with residents, families, and staff, and participate in an on-call rotation as needed to ensure the effective operation of the facility.
