Job summary

Walter B. Crook Nursing Facility administrator in Mississippi is seeking a Nursing Home Administrator to direct day-to-day operations, ensuring safe, resident-centered services and efficient use of resources in partnership with North Sunflower Medical Center leadership.

Lead nursing and clinical teams, manage budgets, ensure compliance with federal and Mississippi requirements, and maintain strong relationships with residents, families, regulators, and referral partners.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Mississippi nursing home administrator license; continuing education required.
• Knowledge of long-term care operations, resident rights, staffing, quality improvement, reimbursement, and applicable federal and state requirements.
• Demonstrated leadership, sound judgment, financial skills, and ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and regulators.
• Bachelor's degree and prior nursing home management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct all facility departments; set priorities, assign accountability, coordinate services, and maintain appropriate policies, records, and emergency preparedness.
• Partner with the director of nursing and interdisciplinary team to promote quality of care, resident choice, dignity, safety, timely grievance resolution, and responsive family communication.
• Oversee survey readiness, required reporting, infection prevention, QAPI, incident review, corrective actions, and sustained compliance with federal and Mississippi requirements.
• Oversee recruitment, staffing plans, training, performance management, retention, and a respectful workplace in coordination with Human Resources and department leaders.
• Prepare and manage the operating budget; monitor census, admissions, payer mix, labor, supplies, purchasing, collections, and financial performance with the finance team.
• Maintain effective relationships with residents, families, physicians, referral partners, regulators, and the governing body; report performance, material risks, and needed decisions to leadership.

Position Summary

The Nursing Home Administrator directs the day-to-day operations of Walter B. Crook Nursing Facility and is accountable for safe, resident-centered services, effective use of resources, and compliance with applicable requirements. The administrator works with nursing, medical staff, department leaders, residents, families, and North Sunflower Medical Center leadership.
