Job summary

Homewood Retirement Centers is seeking a licensed Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) to provide overall leadership for a skilled nursing facility. You will oversee clinical and administrative operations with a focus on resident-centered care and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include directing the leadership team, managing the budget, supporting admissions, and engaging with residents and families to build trust.

Qualifications

  • Active state licensure as a Nursing Home Administrator in good standing; must maintain licensure and complete continuing education as required.
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, public health, or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of long-term care regulations, financial management, and healthcare operations.

Responsibilities

  • Holds full administrative and regulatory responsibility for the skilled nursing facility's license, ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal long-term care regulations.
  • Hires, supervises, trains, and develops the Director of Nursing and other healthcare center leadership staff, in accordance with organizational policy.
  • Directs clinical and administrative operations in partnership with the Director of Nursing, ensuring coordinated, resident-centered care.
  • Leads regulatory surveys, inspections, and interactions with state and federal agencies on behalf of the health care center.
  • Champions quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives within the health care center to maintain high standards of resident care and satisfaction.
  • Oversees budget development, financial performance, and fiscal management for the health care center, ensuring sound stewardship of resources.
  • Supports occupancy and admissions for the health care center, including tours, referral relationships, and coordination with campus-wide marketing efforts.
  • Prepares and presents reports and documentation for corporate leadership, the Board, residents, families, and regulatory bodies.
  • Engages directly with residents and families to build trust, resolve concerns, and reinforce resident-centered service.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Position Summary

The Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) holds full licensure and administrative responsibility for the skilled nursing facility (health care center), ensuring high-quality, resident-centered care in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations. The NHA directs the health care center's leadership team, including the Director of Nursing, to ensure coordinated, resident-centered operations. The NHA reports to the Executive Director and collaborates with campus department leaders to support consistent, high-quality service across the community.

Qualifications

  • Active state licensure as a Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) in good standing; must maintain licensure and complete continuing education as required.
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, public health, or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of long-term care regulations, financial management, and healthcare operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to supervise clinical and administrative leadership and lead through change.
  • Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care administration preferred.
Physical Requirements

Work involves a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the shift. Frequent use of hands to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls is required. Must be able to lift and carry items up to 20 pounds occasionally. May require bending, reaching, and light physical activity. Visual and auditory abilities are required for effective communication and task completion.
