Job summary

Mount Saint Mary College School of Nursing seeks a full-time, tenure-track nursing faculty member to join our CCNE-accredited program dedicated to educating the next generation of nurses. Faculty will teach in the classroom, skills laboratories, simulation labs, and/or clinical settings, and participate in curriculum transition to a competency-based program while pursuing scholarship for promotion.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
At least five (5) years of clinical experience.
Unencumbered current New York RN license or eligibility.
Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field (Candidates enrolled in a doctoral program are invited to apply).
Experience in Nursing higher education in the classroom, laboratory, and/or clinic.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate versatile and effective teaching and mentoring practices that guide and engage students in the pre-licensure and graduate nursing programs.
Lead course coordination and supervision of clinical adjunct faculty in accordance with course requirements.
Work collaboratively with faculty in program planning, curriculum change and improvement, and fulfillment of accreditation requirements for the School of Nursing.
Provide academic advising to students.
Participate in the School of Nursing and College academic committees.
Actively engage in college-wide activities such as Open Houses, Faculty Development Days, and related Commencement activities.
Be responsive to student needs through availability for office hours and on campus days.
