Bay Mills Community College is seeking a full-time nursing faculty member to deliver quality instruction and academic advising to students. The role reports to the Director of Nursing and participates in curriculum development and assessment activities.

Ideal candidates hold a BSN with Michigan RN licensure, plus MSN preferred, and have clinical and teaching experience. Commitment to student-centered education and tribal college mission is essential and will involve on-campus and remote duties.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited college; willingness to pursue MSN.
• Unencumbered RN license to practice in Michigan.
• Minimum five years RN experience with direct patient care; 2–3 years in the teaching field.
• Excellent written communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of nursing education issues and trends.
• Commitment to rapid pedagogical and healthcare-driven changes.
• Experience in community relations and cultivating partnerships.
• Ability to work collaboratively and maintain relationships with clinical agencies.
• Knowledge/experience working with Native Americans in tribal college settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and facilitate instruction; minimum of thirty credits taught per academic year.
• Meet all scheduled classes/labs/clinics for the full allotted time.
• Use teaching methods to reach diverse students and ensure mastery of objectives.
• Provide syllabi with measurable objectives, grading criteria, prerequisites, sequencing, and assignments.
• Assess student mastery and provide ongoing feedback to students and Assessment Coordinator.
• Maintain records for Academic Affairs, Registrar, Director of Nursing, and Assessment Coordinator; meet deadlines.
• Implement and adhere to the college’s Assessment of Student Learning Program.
• Schedule a minimum of 24 hours on-campus activities; remaining 16 hours may be remote or on-campus.
• Collaborate with Director of Nursing on assessment and curriculum development.
