Job summary

Oklahoma Baptist University invites applications for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Nursing in the BSN program. This on-campus role may include hybrid/online components and involves teaching in classroom, clinical, simulation, skills lab, and online formats.

The faculty member will advise students, assist in clinical coordination, participate in committees, and contribute to scholarly development in a Christian university setting.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Nursing and current nursing license in Oklahoma.
• 2 years of nursing experience.
• Strong pedagogical skills at undergraduate level in classroom and clinical environments.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Proficient with current online education software.
• Proficient with classroom and office AV hardware and software.
• Ability to assess student ability and adjust teaching as appropriate.
• Ability to advise students.
• Ability to relate to colleagues in the OBU community and serve as a representative to the professional community beyond OBU.
• Mobility and physical stamina to walk around campus, travel locally and nationally, and transport moderately heavy items.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate nursing courses and/or clinicals in the catalog (medical/surgical focus).
• Plan directed learning activities to master content.
• Develop tests and evaluate student mastery.
• Manage courses in Canvas and update syllabi.
• Design online or hybrid courses using Canvas.
• Engage students in virtual learning environments and maintain online presence.
• Advise students and monitor plans of study.
• Coordinate clinical experiences with agencies and faculty.
• Supervise skills labs and simulations; ensure safety and accreditation standards.
• Participate in committees and engage in professional development.
