Instructors provide high‑quality instruction that supports student learning and fosters a positive learning environment in the classroom. The primary responsibility is teaching and evaluating students in assigned courses. Instruction is delivered on‑site throughout the college’s five‑county service area and may also be offered through online teaching formats. Instructors communicate with students outside of class and perform a variety of administrative duties, including committee work, assessment, registration, and advising.
The educational requirements listed for this position reflect the qualifications for the rank of Instructor. An appointee may be appointed at a higher academic rank provided the individual meets the minimum education and experience requirements established by the Tennessee Board of Regents, including any future revisions to those requirements.
Work activities routinely involve the use of standard office equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, scanners, telephones, and other related devices. Employees are expected to perform tasks such as data entry, document preparation, email communication, and report generation using these tools.
This on‑site position is based at the main campus of Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, Tennessee. The role includes responsibilities at off‑site instructional locations as needed, including the McMinn Higher Education Center (MHEC) in Athens, Tennessee, and dual enrollment sites within the College’s five‑county service area.
The position may require travel throughout the College’s five‑county service area, as well as occasional travel to state meetings, conferences, and other professional development events as needed.
