Job Description: (We are currently looking for a Full Time faculty position and an Adjunct faculty position)
Nursing Faculty at the Orlando School of Nursing is a key position responsible for teaching, mentoring, and contributing to the overall academic excellence and success of nursing students. Professors play a vital role in delivering high-quality education, developing curriculum, engaging in scholarly activities, and providing leadership within the nursing program. This position requires a strong background in nursing, clinical expertise, effective teaching skills, and a commitment to fostering student growth and development.
Responsibilities:
●Prepare and deliver engaging and effective lectures, presentations, and interactive discussions in various nursing courses.
●Design and develop course materials, syllabi, lesson plans, and assessment methods that align with program outcomes and accreditation standards.
●Facilitate classroom, laboratory, and clinical learning experiences that promote critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and evidence-based practice.
●Utilize innovative teaching methods, technology, and simulations to enhance student learning and engagement.
●Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments, examinations, and clinical performance.
●Provide academic and professional guidance to nursing students, including academic advising, career planning, and mentorship.
●Assist students in setting goals, developing study strategies, and navigating challenges throughout their academic journey.
●Serve as a mentor and role model, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
●Offer guidance on professional development, continuing education opportunities, and career advancement in the nursing field.
●Contribute to the development, evaluation, and revision of the nursing curriculum to ensure its alignment with program goals, industry standards, and emerging healthcare trends.
●Participate in curriculum meetings, course mapping, and program assessment activities.
●Integrate evidence-based practice, current research, and best practices into the curriculum to promote high-quality nursing education.
●Collaborate with faculty to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies, simulations, and clinical experiences.
●Engage in scholarly activities, such as research, publications, presentations, or grants, that contribute to the advancement of nursing knowledge and practice.
●Stay current with advancements in nursing research, evidence-based practice, and healthcare policies.
●Participate in professional development activities, workshops, conferences, and continuing education opportunities to enhance teaching skills and subject matter expertise.
●Share expertise and research findings with colleagues, students, and the wider nursing community.
●Collaborate with nursing faculty to foster a collegial and collaborative work environment within the nursing program.
●Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and academic governance to contribute to program planning, curriculum development, and policy decisions.
●Contribute to accreditation processes and self-assessment activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and program outcomes.
●Engage in community outreach, partnerships, and service activities that promote the visibility and reputation of the nursing program.
●Collaborate with healthcare organizations, community agencies, and professional nursing associations to foster clinical partnerships, promote student opportunities, and enhance community health.
Qualifications:
●Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing with preference given to MSN-ED
●Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of Florida (or eligibility for licensure).
●Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience.
●Prior teaching experience in a nursing education program preferred.
●Expertise in a specific nursing specialty or area of practice is desirable.
●Knowledge of nursing education standards, accreditation requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
●Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
●Demonstrated ability to facilitate student-centered learning and critical thinking.
●Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in nursing education.
●Research experience and a record of scholarly activities are desirable.
