Job summary

Community Health Network is seeking a Nursing Educator for the Emergency Department. The role collaborates with the Education Specialist, Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nursing Manager/Director to assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate education for nursing staff on the unit.

The position supports new hires and patient care quality. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in nursing, RN licensure in Indiana and at least three years of nursing experience, including one year in the specialty area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing is required and licensure as a Registered Nurse is required.
• Three years of related professional nursing experience are required; a year in the specialty area is preferred.
• Exceptional communication, technical and relationship skills; strong mentoring and precepting ability.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate the educational needs of nursing staff at the unit level.
• Enable staff to deliver quality care for the unit's patient population.
• Collaborate with Education Specialist and Nursing Manager/Director to support new hires.

Make a Difference

The Nurse Educator works closely with the Education Specialist, the Clinical Nurse Specialist and Department's Nursing Manager/Director to assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate the educational needs of nursing staff at the unit/department level to enable staff to provide quality care for the unique patient population on that unit/department.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

• -4 year / Bachelor's Degree Graduate of National League for Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited school of nursing or in lieu of accredited schools listed above, three years of related professional nursing experience. Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required. If entering role without Bachelor's,must be within one (1) year of graduation with a Bachelor of Nursing. (Required)


• -Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (Required)


• -Certification within specialty area within two years from hire.


• -A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in nursing and at least on (1) year of experience in the specialty area. (Required)
